Call To Discernment

Calling Christians to Biblical Christianity. Christians must have discernment in all areas of life in this end time of deception, realizing also that American leadership of both political parties are leading us into the New World Order of the coming antichrist. Do not be conformed to this world. Rom. 12:2. Expose the deeds of darkness. Eph. 5:11. "He that is not zealous against error, is not likely to be zealous for truth." J.C. 7:00 PM - Why the Emerging Church Movement Despises the Old Hymns

by Steven Garren

The emerging church movement is all about rebellion and youth. Just like secular culture. Anything and everything regarding their parent's ways has no purpose in these churches. In a way one can't blame them since their parents failed so miserably in holding up spiritual truth. But in rebelling they are discarding the good along with supposedly the bad and are headed for worse ruin than their parents.

When I was re-reading part of Don Boy's book on Christian Resistance the other day I saw something he wrote. "How can we sing such battle hymns as Am I a Soldier of the Cross? without gagging on our hypocrisy?" He hit the nail on the head. Never mind a little "archaic" language, older music styles, and other trivial objections to classic old hymns. Even if they won't admit it the main reason the emerging church adherents hate the classic old hymns is the mirror it puts before them showing them to be the hypocrites they really are. Could these people really sing such hymns as these and mean it?

I'd Rather have Jesus

Have Thine Own Way Lord

Am I a Soldier of the Cross?

I Need Thee Every Hour

Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling

Trust and Obey

This World is Not My Home

Nearer My God To Thee

Yield Not to Temptation

It's Not and Easy Road

Jesus I My Cross Have Taken

And what about these songs of our "slaughterhouse religion" as the old time way has been labeled?

Are You Washed in the Blood

Nothing But the Blood of Jesus

There is a Fountain Filled With Blood

There is Power in the Blood

As Solomon said there is really nothing new under the sun. There are always those that rebel against authority and ageless biblical truth. It's just that in these end times it seems more like a flood threatening to sweep the entire world of Christianity into hell. The emerging church in all it's many tentacles is about feelings and experience rather than a life of faith and truth. The music debate has nothing to do with the old versus the new because it has brought ancient pagan and gnostic practices back into the church. Satan does his most damage when he comes into the church, disguised as the most beautiful light imaginable.

There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
Proverbs 14:12
